THE STORY OF THIS PIECE
This extraordinary piece of authentic sea glass was personally collected while snorkeling in Saint Martin and displays a beautiful flashed red coloration.
Unlike solid ruby-red glass, flashed glass was created by applying a thin layer of red glass over a lighter base glass. This historic technique allowed manufacturers to achieve the rich appearance of red glass while using less of the costly materials traditionally required to produce true ruby glass.
After decades tumbling in the Caribbean Sea, the sharp edges have been softened and the surface naturally frosted by sand, waves, and time. When illuminated, the glass glows with warm coral-red and watermelon-red tones that make it especially eye-catching.
